How to get to Costa Rica?

The journey between Italy and Costa Rica is usually quite long, with an average duration between 14 and 20 hours (a figure that obviously varies based on factors such as the airline, stopovers and travel period).

Normally a trip to Costa Rica departing from Italy includes at least one stopover or two as at the moment there are no direct flights between the two countries.

We are talking about one or two stopovers if they are departure and arrival airports among the main ones, such as Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa in Italy, and San Jose in Costa Rica (necessary to then continue towards the Heaven One village).

If, however, you depart and arrive at secondary airports, therefore with fewer routes available, the stopovers could become 3 or even 4.

Therefore, first of all, we must consider the journey to the airports of Rome Fiumicino or Milan Malpensa for those who do not already live in one of these two cities.

As for the cost, the average expense for a trip from Italy to Costa Rica is 700.00 Euros (total for the round trip).

The most common stopovers are in Miami, Toronto, Madrid, Amsterdam and Paris, depending on the travel company you decide to fly with.

Find the best flights on SkyScanner

Skyscanner is a comparison site entirely dedicated to travel.

It is a very useful tool because it allows you to search for flights, hotels and rental cars, proposing various solutions and offers, so that you can choose the one that is right for you.

First of all you need to connect to the site https://www.skyscanner.it/ (which works on both PCs and mobile devices, therefore tablets and mobile phones).

You must then enter the travel details by filling in the appropriate fields:

  • Place of departure and place of arrival
  • Outward and return date
  • Number of person
  • Travel class (economy or business)

It is possible to tick the “direct flights” box and the “include nearby airports” box to add options to the search that will be carried out.

However, we would like to remind you that there are currently no direct flights from Italy to Costa Rica.

In a few seconds the site will show all the possible solutions, which can be sorted by price, flight duration, departure time and other filter options to find the option that best suits your needs.

Finally, you select the option you want to book and SkyScanner will redirect you to the airline’s website or travel agency offering that flight.

It is also possible not to book immediately but to choose the price monitoring option for the specific route you are looking for.

In the following days SkyScanner will send notifications via email when prices change (either up or down).
